New Creation Video Productions is now offering Film transfer.
You don't have to read all this stuff. Please feel free to call and talk to us at (951) 785-7025 (Riverside CA.) ask for Nick Best (Videographer & Editor)
WHAT IS FILM TRANSFER?
Film on Video Tape, or Film on DVD.
By this, we mean re-recording your old 8mm movies onto another format, such as videotape or DVD thus preserving your old fading family films forever. Probably you don't even have a working film projector to view your films anyway, so why not have them transferred into a modern format so that you can see your family history again.
WHAT CAN WE TRANSFER?
At this time, we are capable of transferring from:

HOW DO WE TRANSFER?
All of our transfer work is done "in house" which means when you leave your precious, irreplaceable films in our hands, they stay in our hands until you come to pick them up, we don't give them or send them to anyone else. Which also means there is no price markup therefore you get the best value possible.
As far as the original film will allow we are careful to maintain a clean, bright and sharply focused image. Without any noticeable glare or screen texture spoiling the finished transfer. With your choice of either full frame* or undersize frame#.
* A full frame will actually cut off a little of the edges of the original movie when viewed on a TV screen.
# An undersize frame will leave a black border around the frame when viewed on a TV screen but all the original movie will be visible.
First, the images from the film are transferred to digital videotape. At this point, any required editing is easily achieved. The edited or unedited video is transferred to the final format, usually DVD. At some point along the way, music and/or a voice over can be added. Finally duplicated to as many copies as you might need.
The final video can be placed in a simple case or a hard library case with a graphic sleeve inserted in the transparent cover, similar to our wedding videos.
WHAT WILL A TRANSFER COST?
The basic price structure at this time is:
$2.00 per minute
50ft roll (the smallest roll) = about 3 mins = abou $6.00 plus a reel change fee
400 ft roll ( about 7inch dia) = about 24 mins = about $48 with no reel change fee
The cost of adding music, voice-overs or other sound, editing or adding titles etc. needs to be discussed on an individual basis. It is difficult to give a general quote for these things. Many times no editing is requested anyway, just a simple transfer is needed.
There is also a charge for reel changes. Obviously, it is more work to transfer 8 X 50 foot reels than 1 X 400 foot reel
$25 to make a non authored master DVD, and $90 and up to make an authored Master DVD (an authored DVD is one with menus and scene selection)
DVD Duplications are around $5.0 each depending on the quantity.
WHAT IS THE TOTAL COST FOR A FILM TRANSFER?
Okay, Say you had a 400 ft reel of 8 mm film transferred to a DVD
400 ft = about 24 mins @ $2.00/min = $48 + $25 for the master DVD
Your cost = about $73.00
2 X 400ft reels would cost about $96 for the transfer and $25.00 for the DVD
Your cost = about $121
IS THERE A MINIMUM ORDER?
Yes there is but we are flexible and will work with you, so it depends on the amount of film you have to transfer and how many copies etc. that you need.
In other words we will try to make it work for you without applying any kind of a minimum. So please call and we’ll talk about it.
