New Creation Video Productions has created photo montages of many different types over the years that include:
Graduations, weddings, birthdays, anniversary’s and memorials, etc., etc.
There are two basic methods to create a photo-montage:
The first is based on a “systematic build” and is quotable “up front” at a rate of normally between $2.50 to $4.00 per photograph depending on the amount of animation applied to the images during the build, and typically runs at about 10 photo’s per minute depending upon the music selection.
The second is a custom build which really is not quotable up front, because of the unknown build time.
A “systematic build” basically means: the customer provides the images (photographs) in a numbered order, along with the desired music, and New Creation Video will put it all together for the customer.
Our process is basically:
1) First we scan all the traditional photographs to the appropriate pixel size and quality.
2) Put them altogether with the digital images from computers, phones, Facebook etc. and number all the images and captions in the order that they will appear.
3) For every image to look it’s best, we go through all of them in “Adobe Photoshop”, crop them and restore color etc.
4) Then we lay out the images and captions in our software along with the music to plan out the entire project to the customers desires, smoothly blending each song together producing a seamless montage.
5) Then in order to bring out the best of every image and to make the montage as effective as possible, we animate each image individually to match the feel of the music and the occasion, typically moving each one from the entire image zooming into the more important part of that image.
6) We add any other special effects, like images going out of focus to emphasize text.
7) Fine tune everything so that the captions, titles, images and music all flow together.
8) And finally create a digital audio/visual file or DVD or Blu-ray or however the customer wishes the end result to be.
PLEASE NOTE:
We do not recommend any particular length for a montage, it depends on the occasion, the content and the budget. However we do recommend they run at about 10 images a minute in order for the viewer to see each image properly and for the montage to be effective.
Most everything is built using the numbers allocated to each image. for example: If there are 150 images the first will be 001 and the last will be 150. We will be glad to show you how to number or re-number a digital image if you need help with that. Please use this system to describe where you would like music to start or change to a new song. And any captions you would like positioned. Captions are positioned either before an image or on an image or after an image. To keep things simple, most captions cost the same as an image. Unless they are complicated captions. Normally captions are used as an opening title and/or a closing title or segment title. They can stand on their own or have a graphic background or be superimposed on top of an image. We will be glad to help you anywhere along the way, especially for memorial montages, as we know they can be very stressful at a time where stress is not needed.
